The Chaotic Brilliance

It's already January!
January has turned out as I have feared - it's cold outside (-25 °C) and I'm busy.
In addition to my studies, I'm working half-time. We have one course in school in which we have to be prepared to be on call up to 50 hours in a row for one assignment..... which is pretty insane. Luckily that task was really interesting, and I got away with only 24 hours.

Christmas went past like always, spent it with family.

Nails for Christmas:

For the New Year:

(I didn't get better pictures, the nails were already so ruined and fixed so many times that ombre was gone and snowflakes were not looking like snowflakes anymore.....)

~~

Before Christmas, I bought present to myself:

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup setting spray!
- review -

De-Slick claims to "weightlessly control oil, deflect surface shine and keep skin looking beautifully matte".

I have already mentioned that my skin is oily, thus makeup doesn't stay put.
This product is really good - my makeup stays on miraculously well!
My makeup looked good even after a match of floorball, so this can tolerate even sweating.
I like how this takes powdery look away. The finish is just amazing. The mist feels light on skin, not sticky or tight, just like there's nothing extra.

However, honestly speaking, the spray doesn't help to get rid of shine completely.
My face still starts to shine, but the shine is postponed and minor.
I really like the product a lot, and would like to love it, but oil control isn't that great. There indeed is some but it's not enough. I'm still going to use this since this helps my makeup to stay put (I have looong workdays) and see what's going to happen. At first I suspected that this caused breakouts, but I continued using this and more breakouts didn't emerge. So, after all, I'm quite happy with this product, it's not awesome, but still helps so much.

~~

My christmas presents were mainly useful stuff that I had wished for,
but some surprises also, like this:

Avon pink bronzing pearls from my sister!
This is my first blush of this kind, i have always loved pearl blushes~ Color is lovely too~

And Avon perfume.
I have to confess that this is my first perfume ever (okay, I had a Snoopy perfume when I was a child...). I prefer mild fragrances, so this is just perfect. Elegant, not too overwhelming.

~~

We tried making okonomiyaki!

Since we happened to have some kimchi, those ended up as kimchi okonomiyaki.
Instead of iron plate we obviously used regular frying pan:

So yummy!♥
Sadly we didn't have neither bonito flakes nor mayonnaise (and no hashioki..).
But we had real Japanese okonomiyaki sauce at least!

~~

I have a weird feeling that something is wrong, but I don't know what that something might be.

bye!★

Travel Diary: Tokyo part 3

Day 3, Shimokitazawa.

Shimokitazawa is an area that you would call a bohemian or hipster neighbourhood. Shimokita has a lot of second hand stores on the northern side of the station, and lots of cafes, bars and restaurants on the southern side + many other fun places to explore.

It was so much fun to just stroll the streets and pop in shops. You really won't get bored here!

The streets were very colorful!

The second hand shops were so awesome!
My favorites were definitely Furugi Puchikoshon and Ragla Magla.

And those random cute shops!

My nails for the trip:

After wandering through the northern side, we went to southern side to look for a place to eat.

Met this cute fellow in our way

 We had lunch in random udon restaurant. I don't remember the name, can't remember the name of the dish either, suddenly there was a queue after us and I just picked what they recommended. It was tasty anyway, and cheap!

Udon noodles, deep fried chicken, soup and dressing.

Shimokitazawa was so fun and colorful place, definitely going again!

~~~
At the afternoon we decided to go to Meiji Shrine.
 Most of the pictures I took there were full of people taking selfies... ^_^"
From Meiji Shrine, we headed back to streets of Harajuku. You can't talk about Harajuku without mentioning the crepes. We tried the first crepe shop we encountered.
Cream&Strawberries and Matcha Ice Cream&Cream crepes
The crepe was nothing special imo, but a good snack either way.
And when I rolled open the wrap...
... LoveLive!image
The paper was a bit greasy so I had do throw that away >_<
 We strolled along Omotesando until we were exhausted, then headed to hotel.
This time we visited FamilyMart: another custard choux, Irohas peach water (so good♥), Meronpan and pickled plum onigiri
To be continued!
bye!★
Up Down, To and Fro
Hello~
It's autumn all of sudden!
I have been too busy with school and haven't really been able to enjoy it.
One night I went for a walk and walked until my legs were killing me...
it was a pretty night, so it was worth it.
~☆~
I want to share these two products
Avène Cleanance Lotion Toner & Eucerin DermoPurifier Hydrating Care
I have been using these for a few months and I'm so sold!
Avène Lotion Toner is a biphasic toner, it shows poorly in pictures, because bottle got shaken. Let to settle down, the two phases, the liquid one above and powdery white sediment in the bottom can be seen. Before using, remember to shake the bottle to mix the two phases!
This toner is for oily, blemish-prone skin (like mine), and it promises to be purifying and matifying, plus hypoallergenic and non comedogene. It contains "absorbing powders" (silica?) to regulate excess production of oil.
And this stuff is amazing. I use this twice a day. If I have an arising pimple, I just sweep it with this. It will calm down and never show signs of worsening. I sweep my back too with this, it really helps and I don't have to do anything else. The scent is mild and pleasant, after using this skin feels clean and less oily. The breakouts have decreased too!
I really can't come up with cons.
For some reason I can't find the exact product in Finnish pharmacy sites anymore, but there is a new product, Cleanance MAT Mattifying Lotion, which contains mainly the same ingredients.
~
And to the another product.
I have tried a few products from Eucerin and their DermoPurifier line. The toner is quite good too, and I'm currently using the cleanser of the line.
The DermoPurifier Hydrating Care is for oily, blemish-prone skin. This emulsion promises to mattify and visibly refine the skin’s appearance with regular use. It contains soothing Licorice extract, antibacterial Decandiol and sebum-regulating Carnitine.
I use this daily as make-up base. I clearly can see how redness, oiliness, irritation and pimples have decreased. The moisturizing properties aren't that amazing, but good still. The smell is little funny, not bad nevertheless since it's mild and will fade away.
There is also a version of this with SPF30. The con is the price, it's nearly 20 euros for the tiny bottle. But on the other hand, product is long lasting and really worth of the price!
I bought both at local pharmacy.
Even though I love the products, I'm not saying that my skin problems are completely cured now. Not at all, since my skin is still oily etc. Anyway, these have been such saviors for my skin.
It's much more clean, less red and less oily. Highly recommending these!
I don't think anyone deserves bad skin!
except for my worst enemies muahahaha
~☆~
My mirror is dusty and I had two good hair days:
I thought that since school was starting I would have to have hygienic hands again in upcoming practical training. So I waited 1,5 months, for nothing, until I dared to do my nail.
What a waste of time.ヾ(`ε´)ノ
Next time I will be posting will probably be after my Japan trip.
It will maybe take some time because of the exams I have, but I will try to post about it as soon as possible.
Eek I can't wait, it's only 15 days!!!image
I'm little nervous because I haven't traveled that much, but I hope everything goes well~
Ps. I'm looking for new blogs to read!
Unfortunately so many blogs I have been following have became inactive....
Any recommendations? Drop a comment!
 ~Etsin uusia blogeja luettavaksi!~
bye!★
Nothing in there, nothing at all.
Hi.
I have very little to say.
Summer has been cold. I have worn shorts only twice, not to mention my summer dresses!.... This summer I have also eaten less ice cream than ever!!
I spent the whole June working. Rising everyday at 5 am was tiring.
But well, interesting job combined with study points and money, I can't really complain.
Due to the fact that I was working, I had a boring birthday, but celebrated it with a friend afterwards.
And now because it's holiday, it's time for nail art!
Even though it's holiday I have been writing a research-thingy for my uni studies.
I have also been under stress about other study things and work, so I haven't felt myself very relaxed.
I'm always uncomfortable anyway so that's like nothing. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧❀ฺฺ
But drawing is giving me power.
My mother was cleaning, found some papers and gave them to me. Among those was a bundle of Russian papers. I tried drawing on it, but the paper was too porous for my liking.
I suppose it wasn't even meant for pencils, but oh well.
a guy on a Russian paper - note my fabolous bedsheets
New papers are giving me so much inspiration. Earlier I have mostly used standard A4 sized copy paper.
For me, A3 is like a challenge, which I gladly take! And I'm in love with black paper! ♥
∗゚~ ☆ ~゚∗ ☸ ∗゚~ ☆ ~゚∗
We took a short trip to Helsinki, just for fun. There we visited Kiasma, Ateneum, art galleries, second hand stores etc.
We also had so tasty lunch in a vegetarian pop-up restaurant Soi Soi.
I would have highly recommended it, but they have closed the pop-up already!
Seitan sauce with sweet potato french fries, dressings, and salads ♥
We also happened to find a cute candy shop Sweetheart.
Their handmade marshmallows were so tasty and fluffy~♥ Honestly best marshmallows I have ever eaten~
For example the raspberry marsmallow tasted just like real raspberries!!
By the way, I have eaten too much cake.
Rhubarb and coconut mousse cake
Rhubarb pie
Cherry cake
Coconut cake with rhubarb jam (the jam was leftover from the mousse cake)
Chocolate-marshmallow cake
And potato bread (not a cake lol)
Another proof that this summer haven't been glorious is that although summer is already this far, we haven't had a strawberry cake. That injustice is probably corrected tomorrow.
Also, soon, but later than usually, it's time to pick blueberries!
bye!★
I love the rain I love the night
My head is full of plans.
I'm going to Hungary next month! One of my friends is half-Hungarian and her family has a vineyard there. Our little gang is going to explore Hungary more like through natives eyes as we have so well-informed, language speaking guide! It's going to be very exciting!!!
I also got a summer job! I'm doing some serious business the whole June! And write my school-thingy the whole July, that's a well planned holiday for you...
Anyway I'm so hyped.
 ᕙ( * •̀ ᗜ •́ * )ᕗ
In the previous post, I was frustrated about finding a pale bb cream.
I finally found one:
Missha Signature Real Complete BB cream  #13
The color is very light, it has a pinkish tone, so this isn't the perfect fit for those with yellow undertones like me. It tends to make my pale face look a bit white. I like to mix it with my Lioele bb to get better (more yellow) shade, doing this I have found a mix that looks very natural. I was really relieved. And what's more, it doesn't contain parabens! Woohoo! The texture is quite liquid and this doesn't stay on my face as well as Missha's Perfect cover bb, but I like it still.
I bought some dresses for summer:
I have never really been into wearing skirts or dresses, though I like them a lot.
Gotta throw away all of my insecurities and show my legs when they still look almost decent, haha.
I have been working out but still a lot needs to be done.
... I have been using too much money lately....image
Malai Kofta & Vegetable Korma
I went to Nepalese restaurant - twice, two different restaurants. Food was so good~~~
Next week we'll maybe try out the local Japanese restaurant.
Here is an Easter cake:
Orange-lemon-coconut cake
Some of my friends came to visit and I asked them to finish the cake decoration.
It turned out pretty cute! (note: there is even a bunny)
This is seriously one of my favourite cakes~♥ So fluffy, fresh and sweet! ♥
but required hell of the work, my hands were stinging when I was making the citrus jam and peeling off fruit membranes of the oranges and lemons. But totally worth it!
Since I had two weeks holiday around Easter, I was able to do my nails.
I guess I'm supposed to feel relaxed because I have finished my 90 hours independent studies and one massive exam known as "the hardest", but somehow something is bothering me
and I can't relax. I feel I should be doing something but there's a little to do.
...And now I'm fading awayimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimageimage
bye!★
