Hi.

I have very little to say.
Summer has been cold. I have worn shorts only twice, not to mention my summer dresses!.... This summer I have also eaten less ice cream than ever!!
 

I spent the whole June working. Rising everyday at 5 am was tiring.
But well, interesting job combined with study points and money, I can't really complain.

Due to the fact that I was working, I had a boring birthday, but celebrated it with a friend afterwards.

 

And now because it's holiday, it's time for nail art!
 

 

Even though it's holiday I have been writing a research-thingy for my uni studies.
I have also been under stress about other study things and work, so I haven't felt myself very relaxed.
I'm always uncomfortable anyway so that's like nothing. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧❀ฺฺ

But drawing is giving me power.
My mother was cleaning, found some papers and gave them to me. Among those was a bundle of Russian papers. I tried drawing on it, but the paper was too porous for my liking.
I suppose it wasn't even meant for pencils, but oh well.

New papers are giving me so much inspiration. Earlier I have mostly used standard A4 sized copy paper.
For me, A3 is like a challenge, which I gladly take! And I'm in love with black paper! ♥

We took a short trip to Helsinki, just for fun. There we visited Kiasma, Ateneum, art galleries, second hand stores etc.

We also had so tasty lunch in a vegetarian pop-up restaurant Soi Soi.
I would have highly recommended it, but they have closed the pop-up already!

We also happened to find a cute candy shop Sweetheart.
Their handmade marshmallows were so tasty and fluffy~♥ Honestly best marshmallows I have ever eaten~
For example the raspberry marsmallow tasted just like real raspberries!!
 

By the way, I have eaten too much cake.

Another proof that this summer haven't been glorious is that although summer is already this far, we haven't had a strawberry cake. That injustice is probably corrected tomorrow.

The Beat, Shine and Jammin'

Hello~!

Spring is (slowly) coming!! The sun shone into my room; it was a ray of light, about two centimeters wide! Yay! note: there is very little, if any, sunlight in Finland in the winter

 I know that I have quite many bbs but I don't know when to stop, so:
 

...I bought a bb by Lumene. I read some good reviews about this and when I found out that in addition to shades medium and light, they have also a shade fair, I just had to get this. I have very pale skin, so I thought this would be good. 

This product feels nice, smells nice, looks nice, coverage is good and it blends well and stays on well. Comparable with "real" bbs! I was really pleased, but then I noticed how dark this was!

I wanted to love this product. I will maybe try it on again if I happen to get some tan in summer...

 

These are the bbs I have tried this far. The Garnier "miracle skin perfector" bb isn't in the picture since I gave it to my sister. It was a hideous (orange, oily!!!) product anyway, so no need to compare it with the rest.
The picture  below exist only to show the color variation of the bbs I have. Same order than in the upper picture. You can also see how pale my skin is.

As you can see, Lumene bb (first in left) is so dark! ;____; Despite being a lighter shade than light!!! The best match for me among these is the It's skin bb (in the right), but due the dryness of both my face and this bb I can't use this currently (I like it much though). Skin79 simply doesn't work on my skin, it looks very weird, while the color is ok. Even though I love Lioele that, too, is quite dark.

I almost felt defeated thanks to that Lumene bb. This is all about finding my true match. One doesn't want to look like someone had rubbed mud on one's face, right? The contrast with my pale neck was too obvious.
 

....aaaand, surprisingly, because things are like this, I ordered an another bb. (Maybe I should change my blog's name from Another Melody to Another bb cream...) It still hasn't arrived, but I have so high expectations about it.

My blog isn't supposed to be about cosmetics, but bbs and better skin are on my agenda right now, so please bear with me and my struggle.

Anyway, to continue with my makeup purchases: I have wanted an orange blush for some time.
I finally found one:

It's 3 Concept Eyes face blush "Orange Sugar". Originally I was searching something a bit more yellow, but couldn't find any. It's very nice blush; it gives nice color to my pale face. One just needs to be careful to not to put it on too much, it may look dirty.

My project of finding better makeup products got some boost.

A little foreword: My makeup history is relatively short; I started to use mascara when I was in high school, and bb cream when I graduated from high school. Before that, I used only concealer. Because of my lack of experience I won't write full reviews about the products - you can find well-done reviews all around the internet. I'm just going to state my own opinion about them.

 



Maybelline Baby Lips "Peach Kiss" Lip Balm, Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream no.21
and Skin79 Orange Super Plus Triple Function BB Cream (sample)

I have sensitive, oily and acne prone skin, so originally I didn't like the idea of putting foundation on my face and clog the skin pores. The reasons why I gave a try to bb cream were the claimed benefits for skin. I have used only one bb cream before trying the new ones. I used Miracle Skin Perfector BB by Garnier for two years.

The reason why I became interested in Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream, was that I wanted to try something better. I investigated a little and found out that Missha was said to be one of the best bb cream producers. The idea of getting bb from Korean label also fascinated me, since the bb boom started from there and, well, if you have seen the skins of some Korean stars, you will know.

After using Missha for a month, I think I already see some good effects. I don't know if it's just my imagination and hopeful thinking, but my skin feels softer and better all over. But, I suspect that this bb caused me breakouts at first and I even felt my cheeks burning. I continued to use it nevertheless, since I wasn't sure what was the cause, and that haven't happened again.

After trying Missha, Garnier bb looks so yellow! Compared to Missha, it looks also duller on my face, whereas Missha makes my skin look more bright. I think it also has fairly good coverage for a bb cream, but I still use concealer with it (+powder). Missha also stays on my face longer than the Garnier bb. All I can say about the skin79's bb is that it's maybe a bit too pale for me and doesn't stay as well as Missha. But this too feels better than the Garnier. Since I only got a sample I can't say I see the claimed effects.

Maybelline Baby Lips "Pink Punch" and Au naturel eyeshadow palette by Sleek

Love the Pink Punch!♥ While Peach Kiss only gives a little nude shine on your lips, the Pink Punch really IS pink♥ In my opinion, these aren't very hydrating.

And the eyeshadow, so full of pigment!

Sorry for the weird looking face :''') I think that I didn't really succeed, but I didn't fail completely either!

There is still some things to renew among my beauty products.
In my wishlist, there are a better powder, a better eyeliner and a non-alcohol toner, maybe some new blushes too. I have already found my favourite mascara, False Lash Effect Waterproof By Max Factor,
so no need to look for a better one.
Although I love the bb by Missha, I'm still going to try different bbs, they kinda got me hooked.
I'm waiting for one package atm~

I was quite unproductive; in three months, I drew only these eleven, a few rough sketches and one work which is still in progress. Even getting a new set of coloured pencils didn't make me super productive love them though, boohoo! I'm lazy putting anything to deviantart because of the scanner problems etc. Maybe later.

My studies are going to turn more intensive than ever (though more interesting too) + I'm a little sick now

Ultramarin Hell

Hello!

I had about worst birthday ever = I don't want to write about it.

I have got used to my work = it doesn't make me so tired anymore.

By the way, I finally bought myself a new set of Faber-Castell coloured pencils!♥

Faber-Castell's pencils have always been my drawing tools. Since they are so long lasting, I still have short remainings of F-C pencils from my childhood which I have been using until this day. In addition to my short Faber-Castell's, I have been using Denwert's Studio coloured pencils (set of 24). I have dreamed about new Faber-Castell pencils for a long time and wanted a wider range of colours.

And there they are, my new love:
 

 

These have many good sides: colours are so rich, these are easy to erase, no wax-bloom (unlike my Denwerts!!). Only con I can come up with now is that the colour selection of the 36 set is a bit weird for my liking, I would have appreciated some skin tones and one cold grey instead of two warm greys... And because the pencils are so round they tend to roll and fall to floor, if you are not careful. XD But overall, the pencils = love. I am already thinking about buying the set of 120...

Animecon XI came and went. I have to say that at least for me, the event was somewhat boring. Oh well, at least I got some variation to my summer...

Mad Head Love

Hi!

Oh, I ruined my "post at least once in a month"-principle. Where did the February go? It went past so fast that I don't have any memories of it. O_o I have had so many things on my mind.... Surprisingly, studying took most of my time. We have had two exams and -mentally demanding- language lectures. That basically was my boring February.

Even though February was boring it still included some photoshooting.

I had problems with my phone - the battery of it swelled breaking the back of the phone's case. This has happened earlier too, it wasn't first time... I am probably buying a new phone next month. Until then I am using my sister's old phone. I don't like it, it's weird, and it's so hard to take selfies with it!(>_<) my favourite pastime made hard, lol.

Princess Melodies/Star Locket

Hi!

It's so cold brrrh........I could endure it, but if my face is frozen and I can't breathe now when it's only - 20°C, I don't know how I am going to survive the potential -30°C OAO! In addition, now is the month I hate most. I think I'm going to go hibernate like a bear... ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ but anyway, the increasing light of January is beautiful.

My father turned 60, so we held a little party for him. I was making the treats, doing serving and the dishes. There really was a lot of work to be done, even though there was maybe only twenty people. But it was fun - I actually like doing household chores. The party itself was really cozy and casual.
